Mombasa is a city on the east coast of Kenya bordering the Indian Ocean. Because of its history many historical ruins like Forte Jesus de Mombaša (Fort Jesus a historic Portugese fort) and the Old Town are examples of Portuguese and Islamic architecture. Mombasa is located on mombasa Island, separated by two creeks: Tudor Creek and Kilindini Harbou, and the surrounding mainland.
